Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and whether you spend it with your sweetheart or your friends, it’s a day to celebrate love. I’ll be spending it with my best friend of 30 years and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Remember ladies and gents, you don’t need a significant other to celebrate Valentine’s Day!

Going out to dinner is one of the most popular things to do on Valentine’s Day.  My new favorite restaurant is Vito’s by the Water in Windsor, Connecticut.  My good friend, Kyle Reyes of The Silent Partner Marketingcompany and I recently shot a video there for a project that we’re working on (more details to follow on that.)  If you haven’t been to Vitos yet…you need to go.

First off, the pasta is homemade each day and the dishes have the freshest ingredients.  I come from a large Italian family and have had my share of authentic Italian food. This takes the cake. It is amazing!  Secondly, Chef Rob Maffucci is beyond talented.  He was recently seen on the Food Network’s Throwdown with Bobby Flay show. How cool is that?

Kyle and I had a chance to try his pappardelle Bolognese (his signature chocolate truffle pasta…need I say more.) This is the dish that he made against Bobby Flay, and all I can say is that it is to die for. Want another reason to go to Vito’s? Two words…wine and chocolate. Make sure you book their Wine and Chocolate Dinner on Thursday, February 26th. Considering that chocolate and wine are my two favorite things, I’ll be sure to be there. Amanda Douglas, Bare Skin Waxing

Ladies, before you go out for the evening you always want to look your best. From clothes and makeup to waxing. Yup, it’s not the funnest thing to do, but it’s a must.  You need to make sure everything is taken care of!  When it comes to that- you don’t want to go to just anyone. Let me introduce you to Bare Skin Waxing in West Springfield, Massachusetts.  Amanda Douglas, the studio’s owner is one of the most experienced in the area. Amanda has years of experience and has trained the best of the best. She makes you feel comfortable in what’s a not so comfortable setting. Waxing hurts, there’s not getting around it, but Amanda’s technique makes it less painful. Trust me!

Champagne

After a hot wax, you may be in need for a drink or two. I am a wine girl at heart, but I do love a little bit of  bubbly. One of my favorite is Veuve Clicquot Brut. It’s a bit pricey, but well worth it. It’s one most popular champagnes in the world. It is dry with a slight touch of apple and butter flavors. If you are going to get champagne, this is one to get and splurge on. To me, champagne truly represents romance and celebration, so Valentine’s Day is a perfect time to try some. I highly recommend it.

Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day.

Cheers!
